A chartered coach will bring you on a guided tour through scenic Long Island wine country, visiting three of the area's premier vineyards. This informative tour will include barrel tastings and offer insights into the wine-making process, along with plenty of opportunities to enjoy some local wine. Attendees will also enjoy a catered lunch.
The tour's expected itinerary is below.Macari Vineyards in Mattituck, NY
Owned and operated by the parents of a Fordham alumnus, Macari Vineyards is on the cutting edge of viticulture and is dedicated to a more natural approach to winemaking. You will kick off this tour with a tasting of wines that critics call "beguiling" and "complex" while enjoying the panoramic views of the vineyard.
Peconic Bay Winery in Cutchogue, NY
Meet up with another Fordham Wine Tour and enjoy a tasting of six wines and a gourmet lunch in a private seating area. Winemaker Greg Gove weaves together nuances of complexity, balance, and finesse that express both his artistry and his instincts.
Raphael Vineyard in Peconic, NY
Here you will enjoy a guided tour of the vineyard and production facility that will take you through the sprawling acres of vines, through their tank room and into the barrel cellar. Sample four of Raphael’s hand-crafted wines that reflect a pure expression of the unique climate and soil of the North Fork.
The bus will return you to the Nassau County Supreme Court Building by 6 p.m.
